LASERVIC (the Louisiana Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling) is one of ten divisions within the Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA) with over 170 members. LASERVIC members are involved in numerous professional and community activities that promote counseling in general and spiritual counseling in particular.

LASERVIC is also affiliated with its national organization, ASERVIC (Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling.  For more information, please go to their website at www.aservic.org.

LASERVIC offers several opportunities for it members. For many years, LASERVIC has provided a prayer service at the LCA annual conference and has coordinated the LCA service project in which LCA members donate to the conference host community. LASERVIC and LCA have received national and international recognition for these professional activities. Many LASERVIC members have served and continue to serve in leadership positions with LCA. Additionally, LASERVIC makes financial donations each year to a local, national, and international agencies; nominations for worthy groups area provided by members. Members also nominate their peers for LASERVIC’s annual awards, such as the Humane and Caring Person Award and Professional Service Award.

Members of LASERVIC receive newsletters through the year and are provided a variety of workshops in the Acadiana and the New Orleans areas. The annual luncheon at LCA is also well-attended and enjoyed by all. Through all these activities, LASERVIC members seek to live out their values and principles.
